We are Zane & Sven – a dance duo passionate about sharing the richness and authenticity of Kizomba and Semba. With roots in Latvia, Belgium and Finland, and deep connections to Angola, we blend cultural respect with technical precision and joyful expression.

Based in Latvia, we teach regularly in Riga and are available for workshops, festivals, and collaborations across the Baltics and Nordics. Our teaching focuses on social dancing, musicality, and understanding the roots of the dances we love.

About Zane
Zane began her dance journey in 2020 with sensual bachata but quickly found a deep connection with the music of Kizomba, which led her to explore Kizomba and Semba more seriously. Inspired by her love for movement and music, she has trained with respected teachers such as Eddy Vents, Adilson Maiza, Paulo Selele, and Alvaro & Tomasia. Her passion took her twice to Angola, where she connected deeply with the culture and local dance roots. Since 2022, Zane has been teaching both solo and with partners, sharing her calm, joyful, and elegant style with students. She has taught at the Vilnius Kizomba Festival and Summer Festival alongside names like Eddy Vents and Sven Borgers. Her proudest moment so far has been stepping into teaching Kizomba on her own — and her journey continues with a dream to deepen her connection with the culture and inspire others through dance.
About Sven
Sven discovered Kizomba and Semba in 2014 in Helsinki, drawn first by the music and soon by the depth of the dances. To grow, he trained locally and abroad, eventually studying with José Ndongala’s Kizomba Love Academy and Mestre Petchu. In 2016, he co-founded Azembora, Helsinki’s first school dedicated to Kizomba, Semba, and their fusion styles, building a strong local community and promoting clarity between traditional and modern forms. Since 2020, he has visited Angola regularly and is passionate about connecting more dancers to the roots and culture of these dances. In 2025, Sven partnered with Zane and under Zane and Sven Kizomba and Semba they will continue the mission to introduce these dances to more people.
